White Pekin Ducklings
White Pekin ducklings are covered in soft, bright yellow down. They have a short, stout body, a slightly upturned bill (often pale orange), and sturdy orange legs. As they mature, their feathers turn pure white. This is a fast-growing, heavy breed. Pekins are known for reaching market weight quickly—often within 6–8 weeks. Adult ducks are large (Drakes: 9-11 lbs; Hens: 8-10 lbs). White Pekins are generally calm, docile, and easy to handle, making them a good choice for beginners and small farms. They’re less flighty than many other duck breeds. While not their main purpose, hens can lay around 150–200 large white eggs per year under good conditions.
